jeremy alsop

The feature in this issue is a fascinating interview with Jeremy Alsop. As one of Australia's finest bass players Jeremy spent a number of years living and working in New York before coming back to Australia to form the band "The Lovers". In New York he recorded and performed with Men At Work, Robbie Dupree, Mick Ronson,Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. His bass playing also featured on the series soundtracks to the tv show "The Equalizer".

Jeremy is also a highly skilled and intuitive writer and producer. His finesse and attention to detail are much prized in an industry that tends often to cut too many corners in search of the next big hit.

In this interview he talks about how singers should interact with other musicians and their audience, how a singer has a responsibility to nurture their ability. The interview has been broken into 2 parts each a bit over 10 minutes long for convenience. In part 2 Jeremy discusses how a singer can measure progress and provides a unique insight into the most important things a singer must do when performing with a band. - Flash 6 plugin required.
